The studies concerned the soil of the experimental plots where the sugarbeet was growing in the second cycle of crop rotation in 2000-02. The objective of this study was to determine content of basic mineral components and pH of the soil fertilized with varying types of organic fertilizers and different rates of nitrogen fertilizer (0 to 200 kg N/ha). All types of organic fertilization were conductive to improvement of soil chemical properties, especially manure. Among all doses of nitrogen beneficial for content of N, C:N ratio as well as pH of soil was using nitrogen fertilizers in dose 150 kg N/ha. Coupling vermicompost and nitrogen fertilizers in dose 150 kg N/ha showed the best system of fertilization
