In the paper is presented simplified way of simulation of nitrate concentration in soil water on the basis of their content in soil dry matter and soil granulometric composition. Two independent programs of soil and drainage waters monitoring for nitrate content have been carried on. Soil samples were taken twice a year in the spring and in the autumn from 3 layers in the soil profile ana analysed for the content of N-NO3 and N-NH4. The nitrate contents have been recalculated for nitrate concentration in soil solution. The samples of drainage waters have been collected twice a year from about 700 ditch outlets and analysed for all mineral elements including nitrates. The concentration of nitrates in drainage waters were signifi-cantly higher in the spring than in the autumn (contrary to those in soil solution)
