The aim of this work is to present the procedures of elaboration and updating of International Standards and Polish related to soil quality. Due to the fact that soil problems, considered from various points of view, are also undertaken by specialists from branches far removed from the pedological specialization, this paper refers also to standards related to the soil issues in some other context
