A field experiment was conducted at the Experimental Station in Osiny, Poland, during 1999-2001 to determine the effect of different methods of plant protection on the yield and technological value of winter wheat. Four methods of plant protection and 3 winter wheat cultivars (Mikon, Kobra and Sakwa) were considered in this experiment. The different plant protection methods differed in the number of protective treatments and in crop protection preparations. After harvest the grain yield and baking value (MTZ, test weight, falling number, protein content, gluten content, Zeleny test, weakening of gluten, dough resistance and water absorption) were estimated. It was found that the highest yield and the highest baking quality were obtained where intensive plant protection was applied. It was lower in economy plant protection and the lowest without plant protection. In the 1999, Kobra had the highest grain yield, but in 2000-01 it was Sakwa
