The effects of fungicides, adjuvants and their mixtures on live soil microorganisms biomass content was evaluated (SIR method - substrate induced respiration). Light soil that, referring to mechanical composition, was light loamy sand with pH(H2O) 7.9 was applied in the experiments. Pesticides were applied in a form of water emulsion or suspension, and then intensively stirred with all the content of soil samples. Eight preparations were used in the experiment, among which were ready-to-use pesticides, and mixed with adjuvants as well as separate adjuvants. Following rates were used: 1, 10, 100 mg of active substance per kilogram. The amount of microorganism biomass was measured at the day of preparation application into the soil (0 day), at the 2., 3., 7., 14., 28., 42., 56., 77., 98., and 119. experimental day. Adjuvant addition into pesticides statistically significantly changed their interaction with microorganism biomass content. Only between Siarkol Extra 80WP applied separately and along with Rapol 90EC at 1 mg/kg rate, no statistically significant differences were found. Improved fungicides (with Rapol 90EC i Silwet 560 additions) influenced much stronger and longer on microorganism biomass amount than the form with no adjuvant. Separate adjuvants had slight effects on microorganism biomass content - several per cents as compared to the control, on average. Any deviations from control values during the experiments were sporadic and short. No dependences between rate and the difference level between compared pesticides were found. Fungicides at the rate of 100 mg/kg, particularly Miedzian 50WP along with Rapol 90EC that decreased the biomass content by 30 percent (mean value for whole experiment), the most strongly affected tested parameter. The lowest pesticide rate (1 mg/kg) weakly stimulated the biomass increase only by several per cents
