Reproductive performances of the first litter sows and sows in the higher parities

We used data from 27700 first litter sows and elder sows from one farm in Vojvodina (Serbia). Between them we analyzed 10100 Dutch Landrace sows and 5342 LW x DL sows. It was found a high percent of the first litter sows in the whole herd as well as the high percent of the first litter sows among all genotypes. Sows of the higher parities had a more live born and weaned piglets then the first litter sows.
