Resistance study of ruderal weed species Datura stramonium L. to herbicides belonging to ALS inhibiting group. [Master thesis]
2006
Sunjka, D.
In the period of 2002-2004 resistance of weed species Datura stramonium L. was studied to ALS inhibitors imazethapyr and nicosulfuron. Seed of plants that were suspected to be resistant to herbicide imazethapyr were collected from different localities in the Vojvodina Province (Rep. of Serbia), i.e. Backi Maglic, Bajmok, Kamendin and Kikinda. Studies were performed by two methodic procedures, bioassays in Petri dishes and by whole plant studies. Presence of cross-resistance was also studied to imidazolinones and sulfonylureas. As susceptible standard in the trials population from ruderal site was included. Results of the study are presented in the reaction curve and resistance index, defined in regard to susceptible referent population from ruderal site. Lower susceptibility of the weed Datura stramonium L., biotype from the locality Bajmok to imazethapyr, as well as to nicosulfuron was determined by comparative analysis. Population from the locality Kamendin proved to be less susceptible to nicosulfuron. Populations from localities Backi Maglic(2) and Backi Maglic(3), also developed resistance to imazethapy, while populations from localities Kikinda, Backi Maglic(1) and Backi Maglic(4) showed highly susceptible to the applied herbicides.
