This paper presents the basic ecophysiological characteristics of Canada hemlock (Tsuga canadensis) trees grown on green commons in Belgrade, Serbia. The results of comparative analysis show that Canada hemlock has been successfully cultivated at the site of Hungarian oak and Turkey oak for half a century. For the first time, a considerable variability of cone and seed morphological properties has been recorded. There are good conditions for the fast synthesis of the new variaties compared to other tree species, based on the early and very abundant yield of the trees at this site.
