Bearing in mind basic principles of the species introduction, and results of comparative analysis, this paper shows that Douglas fir has been grown with a great success on sites of Quercetum frainetto-cerris and Saliceto-Populetum for over one half of a century. Judging by achieved growth elements, it may be stated that individuals of Pseudotsuga menziesii are characterized by a rapid and stabile growth on both sites. Vitality of Douglas fir tree individuals is alsi confirmed by established values in regard to the seed production estimate. The accomplished growth rate and vitality are a consequence of the inner properties of species within Pseudotsuga Carr. genera, as well as, physical properties of the site. Observed Douglas fir populations in Belgrade sites (Serbia) are characterized by individual variability of tree properties, which provide evident adaptability at the level of species.
