With the aim of indentifying the microbial contamination of the biogeoshere investigated and taking appropriate prophylactic and other protective measures, the total bacteria and fungi numbers in the amospheric air of several characteristic localities of the city of Cacak were determined. The number of microorganisms was determined by the sedimentation method on appropriate selective media, after which the processing of the results was performed. The lowest total number of bacteria was identified in the air of the industrial Cacak zone and the highest in the city park. Of the bacteria identified in the atmosphere, the most common were staphylococci, micrococci and sporogenic rods. Mildews were the most frequent in the atmosphere of the industrial part of city.
