The paper presents the results of the effect of different training systems on the yield and fruit weight in the Stanley plum cultivar. The investigations were performed in the 6th year after plantation and the training systems used were as follows: Vase, Improved Pyramid and Spindle Bush. The plant spacings in the Vase, Improved Pyramid and Spindle Bush training systems were 6x5 m (333 trees per hectare), 5x5 m (400 trees per hectare) and 4x2 m (1250 trees per hectare), respectively. The results showed that the Vase training system produced the highest yield per tree - 53.47 kg/tree, but the lowest yield per hectare - 17.82 t/ha - due to the greatest spacing applied. The yield per tree in the Improved Pyramid was 51.92 kg or 20.77 t/ha and that in the Spindle Bush was 16.50 kg or 20.63 t/ha. Fruit weight ranged from 35.15 g (Vase) to 37.68 g (Spindle Bush). The highest yield coefficient (yield per tree to trunk cross-section area ratio) was recorded in the Spindle Bush system - 0.335 kg/square cm, followed by the Improved Pyramid and the Vase systems where it was 0.162 kg/square cm and 0.141 kg/square cm, respectively.
