The domestic results from ensiling of various companion crops were presented in the paper. Big farms mostly produce companion crops of vetch and peas with cereals. Such mixed seeding is solving the problem of legume collapsing, their high buffer capacity and low content of fermentable sugars. The obtained silages have better balanced chemical composition and nutritive value. Presently the attention is given to experiments with maize and soybeans as companion crops. With that mixture there is no problem with soybean collapsing, but there is another problem: maize is making shadow for soybeans, the yields are not high and ratio of legume in ensiling mass is rather low. The latest domestic results inform about significant news: production of beans with maize, which may be the way to increase protein yield and nutritive value in the mixture.
