Market research for the purpose of dehydrated fruit consumption promotion

In this paper we analyse the relevant factors (both economic and non-economic) which have determined the scope of dehydrated fruit consumption. Data have been collected through a poll conducted on a random sample of 200 persons on the territory of Novi Sad, Serbia. The research has shown that 80% of people who took part in the public opinion poll consume dehydrated fruit. Product quality and retail prices are the most important factors which influence their decision to buy dehydrated fruit. Generally, the majority of those included in the survey are satisfied with the dehydrated fruit supply at the domestic market. More than a half of the surveyed consumers believe that more intensive media promotion is neeeded. Some of the surveyed consumers think that the health aspect of these foodstuffs is ignored without justification.
