Beljanska Bara is a local watercourse in the eastern part of Backa Region (Serbia), which flows into Becej-Bogojevo canal near the village of Turija. The paper analyses the plant cover of Beljanska Bara drainage system which is characterized by 59 taxa, three fragmentary associations specific for this aquatic ecosystem and groups of weeds and ruderal plant species. The limited frequency of hydrophytes, fragmentary development of the plant associations characteristic for aquatic ecosystems, dominance of weed and ruderal plant species and considerable areas covered by these species in the riparian zone characterize the plant cover of Beljanska Bara drainage system as markedly anthropogenic. Such plant cover makes this area suitable for the development of numerous pests insects, nematodes and pathogens of agricultural crops (viruses, fungi), which cause considerable yield reductions in the adjacent fields which are used for intensive crop production.
