In agroecological conditions of Serbia, coleseed sawfly has three generations annually (overwintering, the first and the second of summer ones). Special hibernates as final larval instar underground in a cocoon. The highest damages cause larvae of the second or third generation. Therefore, chemical control should be undertaken against them. Cultural practices are highly important for reducing the second and third generation. Shallow tillage and after that additional ploughing of crop residues is recommended, immediately after harvest of oilseed rape. In this manner, ploughed insects (especially larvae of coleseed sawfly) will mostly be destroyed, chemical application will not be necessary and all these measures have positive economical and ecological effect.
