Staphylococcoses in farm animals

Staphylococcoses belong among the diseases with sporadic incidence; in some cases they can have a contagious character and enzootic occurrence. In this article the affections that have been known as nosologic units are described. From the epizootological and pathogenetical point of view for the onset of the disease is characteristic the ubiquitousness of the agent and activity of predisposing factors weakening a host on the level of mechanical barriers (skin, mucosa) and immune mechanisms (alteration of immunity). The specific immunoprophylaxis has not been sufficiently worked out. The prevention basis are hygienic-sanitizing measures, and precautions limiting the risk of predisposing factors.
