The paper presents the frequency of pesticide application for the control against causal agents of diseases and pests in major plum growing regions in Serbia. Plum Pox Virus, Polystigma rubrum and Monillia laxa have the major share in terms of causal agents of diseases, and plum sawfly (Hoplocampa spp.), leaf roller (Tortricidae), looper caterpillar (Geometridae) and leaf aphids (Aphididae) are with respect to harmfulness and number the main pests. In the leading plum production regions, producers do not pay much attention to plum control, and most producers do not conduct the control methods or do it insufficiently with one or two treatments. The most intensive control is carried out in the region of Sumadija and Moravica, the share of those who conduct 3-7 treatments accounts for 40-65% with the yields exceeding 40 t/ha. The highest number of producers conduct winter treatments and treatments during over-flowering as to control plum sawfly and fire blight. In addition, many producers treat cv Stanley during balloon phase and ripening onset as to control Monillinia.
