We evaluate in this contribution nutritive value of 3 German rye hybrids (Secale cereale L.) grown in 4 different localities in Slovakia, supplied by OSIVO, joint-stock comp. Zvolen. Degradability of crude protein and organic matter as well as parameters of degradability (Edg) of the tested hybrids Fernando, Picaso and Esprit, were assessed by in sacco method. Results of chemical analyses show significant differences in chemical composition among hybrids and among localities as well. Fernando from locality Dobra Niva has markedly the highest amount of crude protein and lowest starch content. Content of protoplasmic proteins reach up to 40 % out of total amount of proteins, and it conditions higher concentration of lysine. Rye contains the highest amount of sugar (73 g/kg DM) out of cereals. The average content of ME was 13.6 MJ ME. We found no significant differences in Edg of crude protein (79.4 - 80.2 %) among the varieties, and in organic matter was significant difference between the localities Dobra Niva and Ruzomberok within the variety Fernando only. All varieties had high constant of speed c of crude protein and organic matter degradation. The highest Edg of organic matter was in the variety Fernando in the locality Ruzomberok.
