Small white flower moningglory (Ipomoea obscura (L.) Ker-Gawl.) at the population of 1 plant/square m competed with pineapple plant at planting and when the crop was 3 months old unit 1 year reduced number of level 40 percent and fresh weight 60 percent but no effect on plant height. The competition of small white flower morningglory at planting and at 3 months old caused more severe to pineapple plant than at 6 months old. The weed competed with the crop at 6 months old reduced number of leaves 14 percent and fresh weight 25 percent, but no effect on plant height. The number of the weed at 1, 4, 8 and 16 plants/square m caused similar growth reduction of the crop, because it is the climber. The population at 1 plant/square m has already caused severe harmful effect to the crop. Furthermore, high population of the weed also shown intraspecies competition. One plant of the weed competed with the crop after planting until 6 and 9 months caused reduction of the crop growth in the area of 45 square m around the weed plant (or at the radius of 3.4 m from the weed plant).
