Decomposition of rice straw in Natural Farming System was studied in a rainfed farm at Khon Kaen Province on Roi-et soil series (Aeric paleaquults). Rice straw was chopped into 5 cm long and put in experimental plot which was applied with 4 rice varieties RD6, Kavphae, Dorphare and Ketomdang. Rice seeds were sown at the rate of 12 kg/rai together with mungbean seeds at the rate of 4 kg/rai. After sowing, rice straw was used as mulching material at the rate of 200 kg/rai. Results indicated that under Natural farming conditions the rate of rice straw decomposition was highest in the second month. After the forth month the degree of rice straw decomposition was 62 percent. During the process of decomposition, the straw released nutrient in the following order, Potassium, nitrogen, calcium, magnesium, sodium and phosphorus.
