Flooding and damages due to flooding in the Lower Mekong Delta are trending to increase. To find out the cause of these the writers investigate the change trend of the maximum flood discharge, and the maintained time at different alarm flood levels, period 1978-2003 at Tanchau and Chaudoc hydrology stations, the two main flood entrance ways to the Lower Mekong Delta.
