Study on the effect of protein levels to the growth of 28-56 day-old piglets
2004
Tran Van Phung | Dao Van Khanh | Ha Thi Hao
The experiment was carried out on 109 piglets at the period from 28-56 days old, and they were divided into 3 groups in order to achieve an uniformity in body weight, growth rate and general healthiness. The piglets were given 3 experimental diets at 18,19 and 20 percent of crude protein. The diets were the same metabolism energy, amount of lysine, methionine + cystein, minerals and vitamins. The data received from experiment showed that, when reducing protein level down from 20 percent to 18 percent, but keeping the mount of lysine and methionine + cystein, so it's not affect to the growth and feed exchange ratio/kg of weight gain of the piglets. In the other hand, when using lower protein level diets will reduce nitrogen levels in feace and urea, toxic gases as NH3,H2S in microclimate of pigsties.
