The aim of the present study was to establish the effect of protein concentration in the diet on the milk urea content in sheep. Different farm research experiments were carried out with sheep over the period 2005-2007. The animals received isoenergic diets with crude protein (CP) concentrations between 12.3 and 17.8% per kg dry matter and different supplementary protein sources. On the basis of the results, the following conclusions were made: The augmentation of CP in the diet caused an increased content of milk urea in sheep (P0.05).
