Adenylyl cyclase activity in ram and buul semen
2008
Miteva, K. | Zlatarev, S. | Khristov, P.
The activity of adenylyl cyclase in ram and bull spermatozoa and seminal plasma was studied. It was higher in ram than in bull spermatozoa. The activity of the enzyme was greater in the spermatozoa than in the seminal plasma. Mn+2 ions increased the adenylyl-cyclase activity but Mn+2 and Ca+2 ions had a synergetic effect on the enzyme activity in ram and bull spermatozoa. The adenylyl cyclase activity of ram and bull spermatozoa correlated with their motility – the higher activity corresponded to higher motility and the lower activity was associated with smaller motility.
