As a result of the lead research with spring wheat and timothy grass in vegetative experiences on sod-podzolic loam sandy soil in conditions of deficiency of selenium it is established the following: application of selenite of sodium into soil into a range of selenium dozes from 5 up to 2560 mkg/kg does not render toxic action on plants and does not oppress their growth and development; for increase of the content of selenium in grain of spring wheat and in dry weight of timothy grass up to optimum values it is enough to bring 40-80 and no more than 100 microgram of selenium on 1 kg of soil in the form of selenite of sodium. For the further studying of application of selenite of sodium in soil in field conditions a doze of selenium under a spring wheat will make 120-240 g/ha, under timothy grass - no more than 300 g/ha. In a range of dozes of selenium in soil (5-40 mkg/kg) growth of the content of element in grain occurs adequately to increase in its quantity in soil. At dozes of selenium in soil above 40 mkg/kg its accumulation in grain prevails over growth of content in soil. At entering selenium into soil into dozes of 40-80 mkg/kg its content in soil increases more than twice, and in grain - in 10 times. This quantity is rather enough for enrichment of grain wheat in soil. Results of researches with wheat and timothy grass testify to positive influence of selenium in interval of the specified dozes on their productivity. The authentic increase of wheat grain is received at entering selenium into soil in a doze of 160 mkg/kg. Growth of grain yield from selenium was occured due to increase in number of productive ears and weight of 1000 grains. Selenium influenced on increase in straw yield much more than on grain crop
