Research results of development stages of strobile and seed formation of introduced Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirb.) Franco) and optimal terms of seed harvesting in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus were presented. Investigation of the influence of terms of seeds harvesting on seedlings development (diameter of root collar; length of top; length of needles; length of roots) was realized. Influence of harvesting terms on Douglas fir strobiles development (strobile length and weight; strobile diameter; quantity of seeds per strobile; seed moisture; skin moisture) was studied. Investigation results showed that the complete ripeness of Douglas fir seeds took place in the end of August and that period was the optimal for stobiles harvesting. Putting off the harvesting terms caused the losses of the best quality and quantity seeds. Research results showed that for the increasing of the duration of seed harvesting period it was possible to begin the strobile harvesting from the middle of August. In that period of harvesting seeds successfully became fully ripe in strobiles in the conditions of room temperature. The middle of August proved to be the most effective period for Douglas fir seeds harvesting in the conditions of Belarus
