[Comparative assessment of biochemical composition of different cranberry bush Viburnum opulus varieties]

As a result of long-term many sided research (in 2005-2006) representatives of the most productive high decorated bred cranberries bush varieties selected from natural populations were marked out. For the first time a comparative assessment of 5 naturally bred cranberry bush varieties Volkovysskaya, Luzhesnyanskaya, Krugovitchskaya, Orekhovnenskaya, Minoytskaya from the gene bank of the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has been made in regarding to the accumulation of organic acids, soluble sugars, pectines and phenolic compounds in fruits. Satistical data on comparative differences of variety Volkovysskaya in content of organic acids and carbohydrates in dry mass of naturally bred cranberries bush varieties are revealed. It has been shown that the most promising varieties for medical cultivation as the potential sources of useful compounds are as follows: Luzhesnyanskaya (vitamin C, phenolic carboxylic acids, fructose, pectines); Orekhovnenskaya (vitamin C. glucose, catechines, flavonols); Volkovysskaya (free organic acids, phenolic carboxylic acids, soluble sugars, anthocyanin pigments); Krugovitchskaya (pectins, anthocyanin pigments, catechines). The least promising in terms of nutritive and vitamin value of fruit is the variety Minoytskaya
