Summarized data for the results of fertilization in Belarus accumulated during 1986 - 2005 as well as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium balances were discussed. The comparison of fertility status changes (9-10 monitoring investigation) with regard to previous monitoring data is presented. Results of the analysis of use of fertilizers in the republic testify that the system of soils liming and potash fertilizers application allows to support the reached level of soil acidity and the content of potassium in arable soils. Applied level of phosphoric fertilizers in the republic (20 kg/ha) at positive balance Р205 for the last five years (+6,1 kg/ha) does not allow to support the reached content of phosphorus in soil, therefore its decrease in 4 mg/kg is marked. Application of organic fertilizers 6,1 - 6,5 t/ha is not enough for formation of sufficient balance of humus in arable soils. The complex of actions for its maintenance is necessary
