UV deficiency influences on working capacity of the person, efficiency of agricultural animals. Their resistance to infectious diseases and action of adverse factors of environment decreases. Prophylaxis of UV deficiency gets a special value at industrial cultivation of agricultural animals in the conditions of their paddock-free maintenance in industrial premises. Natural UV radiation of range 290-320 nanometers does not get into industrial premises owing to glassing, that leads to considerable decrease in animals’ irradiance most biologically an active part of ground solar UV radiations in comparison with natural conditions of a light mode. However application of artificial sources of UV radiation in animal production still finds the limited application. The state of erythrocytes antioxidant defense of the UVB irradiated rats was investigated. The daily UVB irradiation of animals within 12 days in a total dose of 3,0 KJ/square m increases in activity of the superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase and the reduced glutathione level in erythrocytes, decreases the content of lipids peroxidation products in blood. The resistance augmentation of erythrocytes from irradiated animals to oxidative action of t-butyl hydroperoxide in vitro was determined
