[Rape [Brassica napus] in Belarus: biology, selection and cultivation technology]

Results of long-term research in the field of selection and technology of cultivation of spring and winter rape in Belarus are stated generalized. The special attention is given to selection of an initial rape material, to features of its biology, depending on genotype, elements of technology and factors of environment. Possibilities of hybrids Ft receptions for industrial use are estimated in detail. Big attention is given to quality and fractional structure of oilseed rape, food and technical advantages of oil depending on their fat-acid structure, and also prospects of selection in this direction, results of research of scientists on the given problem are generalized. With the purpose of maintenance of the population of the country by cheap food vegetable oil and public animal industries by feed protein close on aminoacid content to soya, in 1986 in the Belarus research works on selection, primary seed-growing and technology of cultivation of winter and spring rape have begun. Increase of rape sortment, use of effect of heterosis, development of technologies of cultivation of winter and spring rape have allowed to expand the areas under this culture in Belarus with 0,6 up to 200 thousand/ha
