Data on fermentative activity of investigated long-arable peatbog soil during 30 - 450 years are presented. Efficiency of using qualitative parameters of fermentative activity for evaluation of biochemical processes that occur in peat and postpeat soils of various terms of reclamation and agricultural utilization is shown. Dependences of fermentative activities (hydrolase and oxidoreductase) of the content of organic matter, movable forms of phosphorus and nitrates, the depth of soil profile are presented. Activity of enzymes is one of perspective factors of the processes of peatbog transformation enabling to reflect longevity of utilization accompanied by preservation of productivity. Reasonable agricultural utilization of reclaimed postpeat soils (cautious cultivation, best combination of organic, macro- and micro - fertilizers, selection of crops) these soils may be used over a very long period of time (more than 450 years). Dynamics of biochemical properties of peatbogs of different terms of drainage shows that transformation of peatbogs in a new soil version occurs by taking the exponent, the most active phase comes to the end after 30 - 50 year uses. After 200 years of use there comes stability in soil processes. To a greater degree utilization of newly formed organic substance instead of organic substance of postpeat soils occures
