[Physical and mechanical properties of grain heap and relevance of realization of its preliminary shelling]

Grain heap received by the grain cleaning and drying agricultural complexes of the Republic of Belarus usually had the increased levels of moisture content (24 - 35%) and infestation (8 - 14%). Factors exercising the negative influence on infestation grain heap (crop cultivation culture; terms and weather conditions of crop harvesting; quality of combine harvesters) were analysed. High - performance activity of microorganisms in the moist (14% of moisture content and higher) grain heap caused the necessity of the immediate realization of the preliminary grain shelling for the determination of the waste mixtures with the highest moisture level. The preliminary shelling of grain heap made it possible to prolong the terms of safety storage, eliminate the causes of blockages and combustion occurrence in dryers, increase the evenness of grain warming on 40 - 60% and reduce the heat input for drying on 3 - 5%, prevent grain cleaning equipment breakdown as well as lower the upload of the further grain cleaning machinery
