Investigation of the toxicological characteristics of Akvamed solution (containing active substance of sodium hypochlorite) produced in the Republic of Belarus for the realization of the detoxification therapy for the stimulation of the natural processes of clearance of different organism sectors or for their relief for the creation of extra channels for the artificial detoxification (efferent therapy) by the example of laboratory animals (mice and rats) was realized. The acute toxicological characteristics of Akvamed solution was studied by means of its intra - abdominal parenteral and enteral administration (0,5 milliliter (for mice) and 5 milliliter (for rats)). The acute and chronic toxicity study there was also realized the intra-abdominal administration of 1, 5, 10 and 20 milliliter/kg. Both after internal and intraperitoneal administration there were registered no clinical traits. In course of hematological examination there were revealed no statistically - valid differences in the quantity of erythrocytes and leukocytes as well as in the haemoglobin contents. Statistically - valid differences in the quantity of protein, urea, bilirubin, glutamic - pyruvic transaminase, serum glutamic oxalacetic transaminase and creatine were not registered. Results of the investigation of Akvamed chronic toxicity after ental and intra - abdominal administration did not cause neither irritant action no any negative changes of hematological and biochemical indices
