To determine the genetics of pathogenicity and annual changes of virulence factors in the population of Blumeria graminis f.sp. hordei, the causal organism of barley powdery mildew, 50 Near Isogenic Lines (NILs) containing different Ml genes and 20 advanced cultivars and lines were planted in 12 locations in Iran. Susceptible Cultivars, Afzal and Zarjo were planted among the lines and also around the nurseries. Data on disease severity and response of NILs were taken according to Saari and Prescott (1975) modified by Eyal et al.,(1987). In general, the results showed that, the virulence frequencies of Blumeria graminis f.sp. hordei varied in different locations and years. In all locations , virulence for Mla, Mla6, Mla14, Mla7, Filler, Ml(LG2), Mla12, Mla13, and Ml(Ru3), was not observed. Virulence for Ml(La), Mlnn, Ml1402, Mlc, Mlat, Mla8, Mlh and Mlk were the most frequently in all surveyed locations. Evaluations of 20 advanced lines and cultivars, showed that all of the materials almost had moderately susceptible to susceptible responses and line ICB-100960/3/ROBUR/ OWB753431D/SL3 was resistant except 1382 in sari location.
