Phylogenetic analysis of caprine arthritis-encephalitis virus strains based on sequences that codify for matrix protein P16 [Lombardy]

إنجليزي. Lentiviruses isolated from goats in Lombardy region were analysed phylogenetically. Evolutionary trees of the proviral 512 bp gag sequences (matrix protein p16) obtained by the neighbour-joining method demonstrated that the goat isolates clustered with prototype CAEV-Cork virus. Lentiviruses isolated from goats in the same geographic region were close to caprine arthritis encephalitis prototypes. A comparison of sequence data with the ones contained in the EMBL database revealed that, in contrast to caprine prototypic viruses, all prototypic Maedi Visna viruses contain an insertion of 21 nucleotides in the gag gene. This insertion may be a useful marker in the analysis of small ruminant lentiviruses, especially when considering possible transmission of lentiviruses between sheep and goats

Gli alberi filogenetici delle sequenze provirali di 512 bp del gene gap (proteina di matrice p16) ottenute mediante il metodo di ricostruzione genetica neighbour-joining hanno dimostrato che gli isolati della capra si raggruppavano con il ceppo di riferimento CAEV-Cork. I Lentivirus isolati dalle capre nella medesima area geografica erano affini ai virus di riferimento dell'artrite-encefalite caprina. Il confronto delle sequenze con quelle contenute nel data base EMBL ha evidenziato che, rispetto ai ceppi di Lentivirus caprini analizzati, tutti i ceppi di riferimento MVV contengono un'inserzione di 21 nucleotidi nel gene gag. Questa inserzione può risultare un marker utile nell'analisi dei Lentivirus dei piccoli ruminanti, specialmente nel caso della possibile trasmissione dei Lentivirus fra ovini e caprini.]
