Kermanshah plain which cover 30342 ha, are located in west of Kermanshah city in Kermanshah province(w-Iran).Data of the Kermanshah synoptic station shows that climatic type is sub-humid and cold. The maximum daily temperature is 37.7oC in July and the minimum daily temperature 6.5oC in january. The annual rainfall is 458mm. The aim of this study was to assess the qualitative land suitability for rain fed Wheat, Barley and Chickpea and irrigated Wheat, Barley, Mize and Sugarbeet Kermanshah plainand to determine potential irrigated yield for cited irrigated crops by FAO growth model. FAO framework and the proposed method of Sys were used for evaluations. Qualitative evaluation was carried out according to both simple limitation and square root parametric methods. Results of climatic study show that the growing period in this area for rain fed starts in November 4, and ends in April 26, which is about 173 days. the climatic class for irrigated Wheat, Barley and Sugar beet according to both simple limitation and square root parametric methods is suitable (S1) and for irrigated Mize is moderately suitable (S2). The climatic class for rain fed Wheat, Barley and Chickpea based on simple limitation method is marginally suitable (S3) and according to square root parametric method for three crops are moderately suitable (S2). Determined potential irrigated yield for irrigated Wheat, Barley, Mize and Sugar beet is 7092.5, 7516.9, 7907 and 670928.8 respectively. Results of land suitability evaluation showed that in the most land units, Wheat, Barley and Sugar beet are the more suitable than Maize and Chickpea.
