Study on the effect of different rate and sources of Nitrogen slow-release fertilizers on yield of Scindapsus aureus

Scindapsus aureus is one of the exportable pot plants in Iran . Possibility use of all Nitrogen(N) fertilizers at once and to minimizing N leaching in soil is very important. One way is to apply N slow release fertilizers such as urea and methylen urea form these fertilizers can be apply for growing up in pot plants and other ornamental plants because N gradually release in bed. This study was conducted with 9 fertilizer treatments in randomized complete block design with three replications. In this investigation, recommended N was 135g.m-2.6 months. Application of the N on the pot NO.18 with 254.47cm2 area is 2.163g/pot/size18/month. And N fertilizer were from sources of ureaform (46%N), metylen urea (38%N),and ureaform (38%N) provided. Fertilizer treatment including: T1) Control – (without N) T2)100%recommended N from urea at 4.7022g urea/pot/6month: split six times, 0.784g/pot/month. T3)70% recommended N from urea at 3.292g/pot/6month (on 6 month and every month0.5486g urea/pot) T4)100%recommended N from urea at 5.692g/pot/6month ureaform,pre planting. T5)70% recommended N from urea at 3.985g/pot/6month ureaform,pre planting T6)100%recommended N from metylen urea at 5.692g/pot/6month pre planting. T7) 70% recommended N from metylen urea at 3.985g/pot/6month pre planting. T8)50% recommended N from ureaform at and 20% recommended N from urea (2.846g/pot/6month ureaform,pre planting), and 0.9404g/ pot/6month urea for six time and every time 0.157g urea/pot/month. T9)50% recommended N from metylen urea and 20% recommended N from urea (at 2.8460g/pot/month metylen urea pot/6 month, pre planting and at 0.9404g/pot for six months period, every month at 0.157g/pot/month. Observation the whole parameters were resulted that 50 percent N recommend as methylen urea in addition to 20 percent N in ureaform (T9), mean while economize use the Nitrogen, as compared to other treatments with more N. It caused significant increase in leaf number, stem height, auxiliary branches, and leaf, stem beside petiole wet and dry weight in plant and also qualitative core and chlorophyll index, 19, 10.81, 250, 24.68, 24.56, 24.26, 34.06, 26.66 and 15.33 percent respectively in compared with control
