A survey on network ornamental plant marketing in Mahallat city

Mahallat is one of the most important regions on ornamental plant production in Iran. Such as it has the first rank on diversification production and with khomein city is second on production. Its export in 2002 was 10200000$. Thus investigation on ornamental plant market can help to improve marketing and its export. In this research marketing, margin, channels, cost coefficient and efficiency marketing, share of marketing agencies and problems about it are investigated. Interviewing collected data with 30 producers, 6 wholesaler and 15 retailers on random sampling. Results shows that middles have the most share of final price and most of them are small and traditional units that it is caused to raise the price. Lack of liquidity and divergent among marketing agencies, expense cost transportation, poisons, and lack of regulation exports are basic problems. Therefore, financial, technical, operational, and policy support with cooperative activity on marketing and export improvement can effect on marketing progress.
