Behaviour of different genotypes of tomato to Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Disease (TYLCD) [Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.; Sicily]

إنجليزي. In years 2003-2004, the behaviour of 16 tomato genotypes towards Tomato yellow leaf curl disease (TYLCD) was evaluated. Tests were carried out in area of Santa Croce Camerina (Ragusa, Sicily), in non conditioned greenhouse, following the techniques ordinarily adopted in the zone. The greenhouse was never covered with antivirus net. The compared genotypes were: Andrea, Caruso, Cencara, Doreen, Doroty, DRD8079, DRD8118, DRW4123, Garanto, Kastalia, Quasar, Timpa, Turalia, TY, Valiente and Vemone. The plantlets were transplanted in greenhouse in a randomized blocks arrangement of four plantlets with five replications. During the trial, different observations were carried out to verify: number of plants affected by TYLCV or TYLCSV or both viruses, number of berries formed on the first four steps of each plant, harvest time, yield, its components and fruit characteristics. No infections were recorded on Andrea, Doreen, Doroty, DRW 4123, Garanto and Valiente, while Andrea, Doreen, DRW 4123, Garanto and Valiente provided higher productions

Nel biennio 2003-2004 sono stati messi a confronto 16 genotipi di pomodoro per valutarne il comportamento bioagronomico e la loro suscettibilità nei confronti della malattia dell'accartocciamento fogliare giallo del pomodoro (TYLCD). Le prove sono state condotte in agro di Santa Croce Camerina (Ragusa), in serre non condizionate, seguendo le ordinarie tecniche colturali. Nessuna serra è stata coperta con rete antivirus. I genotipi posti a confronto sono stati: Andrea, Caruso, Cencara, Doreen, Doroty, DRD8079, DRD8118, DRW4123, Garanto, Kastalia, Quasar, Timpa, Turalia, TY, Valiente e Vemone. Ciascuna parcella, comprendente quattro piante per genotipo, è stata replicata 5 volte in uno schema sperimentale a blocchi randomizzati. I rilievi hanno riguardato: numero di piante infette dai virus; produzione di bacche per pianta nei primi quattro grappoli; precocità; resa e suoi componenti; alcune caratteristiche di qualità dei frutti (diametro equatoriale e polare, spessore del mesocarpo, numero logge, solidi solubili totali, sostanza secca). Tra i genotipi posti a confronto, nessuna infezione è stata riscontrata in Andrea, Doreen, Doroty, DRW 4123 e Valiente, mentre Andrea, Doreen, DRW 4123, Garanto e Valiente hanno presentato maggiori livelli produttivi
