The environment of cultivation and the genetic material influence the production in a significant way. The low unitary value of woody chips forced to reduce the production costs in every phase, from planting to cultivation and harvest. Trials carried out in Italy in recent years have evidenced productions comprised between 15 and 20 Oven Dry tons per hectare and per year
