Biomi is a new sweetpotato variety developed from Mokpo Experiment Station, National Honam Agricultural Experiment Station (NHAES), RDA in 2003, which was for the utilization as feed and food for storage root of high moisture content and fast fleshed up. This variety was selected from the cross between MI9208-16 and Hi-starch in 1996, seeding and line selections were practiced from 1997 to 1998, and preliminary and advanced yield trials were carried out from 1999 to 2000. The regional yield trials were conducted at six locations from 2001 to 2003.
