Bordetella bronchiseptica strain was identified as an etiological factor of pneumonia in rabbits. There was no isolation of other pathogens. Post mortem B. bronchiseptica was isolated from lungs, liver, spleen, heart and guts. It grew weekly on blood agar, Mueller-Hinton Agra, MacConkey Agar and Endo Agra after 24 hours incubation (37 deg C / aerobic conditions). There was no haemolysis on blood agar. Analysed B. bronchiseptica strain showed typical enzymatic activity for the species in biochemical tests. In anitbiotic test, it was susceptible to amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, imipenem, tobramycin, gentamycin, tetracycline, oxytetracycline, ciprofloxacin, enrofloxacin, chloramphenicol and cotrimazole, and resistant to the other beta-lactams, kanamycin, streptomycin and rifampicin
