Reaction of 7 domestic cultivars of soybean to sodium in a concentration 25 mmol/cubic dm was studied in the two year-long pot experiment. The results showed that salt stress decreased stomatal conductance of leaves, intensity of transpiration, intensity of photosynthesis, content of chlorophyll, number conditions a high percentage content of Na in top parts and roots and a very high (about 6-times higher than Na) content of Cl in top parts of plants were also determined. The conducted studies showed that domestic cultivars of soybean clearly differ in their sensitivity to salinity. The resistance to salinity corresponded to the percentage content of chloride and sodium in top parts of plants
