Weed infestation structure of ecological and conventional farms (Szubin commune, Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodeship)

Comparison of segetal flora in cereal crops in organic and conventional farms was carried out the basis of 35 pairs of phytosociological records made in Szubin commune (Poland). Plant communities in both farming system had similar number of weed species, rare and endangered plants. Differences in single vegetation patch and its infestation were not significant. Centaurea cyanus (archeophyte) was observed twice more often on the organic fields than in the conventional ones. Vicia villosa, Sonchus arvensis and Equisetum arvense were more common (at low coverage and constancy) in the organic farms
