Yielding of selected potato varieties according to different interrow width and nitrogen fertilization

The undertaken study aimed at determining the direction of yield changes of selected potato varieties following the application of different interrow width, two nitrogen fertilization levels and different soil compaction. It was found that the application of different interrow width significantly influenced both the tuber yield and some parameters of its quality. The highest yields were obtained when the examined varieties were cultivated at the medium interrow spacing of 82 cm. An increase in row spacing significantly increased the average tubers weight, starch content and percentage of large tubers in the yield. There was found a negative effect of tractor passings which markedly compacted the soil on the tuber yield level
