In the field experiment was studied the effect of different tillage systems: conventional, reduced tillage, ploughless and direct sowing on soil respiration. The aim of the study was determination of ploughless tillage and zero-tillage on soil biological activity. Soil respiration varied under different tillage systems. The highest biological activity of the soil was found in direct sowing treatment at different growth stages of triticale for single and double rate of nitrogen fertilization. Together with the degree of tillage simplification and with increasing nitrogen rate soil respiration is increased, but the efficiency of the increase is the lowest under direct sowing
