The influence of the sewage sludge from a dairy Krasnystaw (Poland) on sugarbeet yield was determined on the basis of large-area experiment on brown soil formed from silt. There were six experimental treatments: without fertilization - control, FYM with and without liming, sewage sludge with and without liming, liming without organic fertilization. Sewage sludge contained higher concentrations of N, P, Ca and Na, but lower concentration of K than FYM. The content of heavy metals in the sludge were not exceeded the acceptable standards. Significant increase of roots and leaves yield of sugarbeet as a result of organic fertilization and liming was stated in the experiment
