The aim of the present research was to evaluate the yield and quality of some Chinese cabbage cultivars grown in field conditions during spring. No premature bolting of the tested cultivars was noted, which proved their suitability for cultivation in spring. All cultivars produced high and good quality yield, although differences depending on the cultivar and weather conditions in particular years of the experiment were observed. The mean total and marketable yields obtained from cultivars Kasumi F1 and Spring King F1 were the highest, i.e. 115.54 and 113.94 t/ha, 115.06 and 112.56 t/ha, respectively. Cv. Optiko F1 usually gave significantly lower yields. The yield of cv. Gold Rush F1 was comparable to that of the best yielding cultivars in the years 2001-2002, whereas in 2003 it was notable lower
