The objective of the research was to analyse if and to what extent the proximity of a transport route with high intensity of traffic effects the heavy metals content in an indicator plant - dandelion (Taraxacum officinale). The content of zinc, copper, nickel and lead in the plant tissues was marked with the ASA method. No apparent link between the trace elements content in dandelion and the distance from the road was found. Presumably, the distances in question were too small to assess the diversity of the content of trace elements in plants (lower than 0.5 m, 2.5 m, lower than 5.0 m)
