This paper provides an assessment of the present status of conservation of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture at the Ministry of Agriculture, Sugar and Land Resettlement in Fiji. The status of germplasm collections is reviewed and future plans outlined. This is seen as an input into the process of strengthening the regional network on PGR in the Pacific region, the Pacific Agricultural Plant Genetic Resources Network (PAPGREN)
